Renewing Your NJ Real Estate License by April 30, 2019

You can sign up for both sessions to earn 12 credits and save $20!

Please Note: The New Jersey Real estate commission requires all licensees to complete twelve (12) hours of continuing education, for each licensing cycle. Six credit hours must be in core topics, which must include, at least two credit hours of ethics. The remaining six credit hours can be in either core or elective topics. All continuing education must be completed before April 30, 2019, to avoid late renewal fines.  

SESSION I     DATE: February 21, 2019  

ETHICS IN NEW JERSEY REAL ESTATE PRACTICE, C20161366: is a three (3) credit hour ethics course that satisfies the ethics component, for NJ REC license renewal. The course covers ethics in the areas of fair housing and a licensee’s relationship with clients and principals, customers, other agents and firms and the general public and advertising rules. It merges general ethical concepts pertaining to real estate with the concepts detailed in the realtor’s code of ethics. The course utilizes mini case studies to illustrate how ethics play a role in potential real life situations.

NEW CORE TOPICS IN NEW JERSEY REAL ESTATE, C20200318: is a three (3) credit hour core course approved by the New Jersey Real Estate Commission. This course covers: an update of the NJ REC rules and regulations; the new mortgage financing laws; it covers how the new accounting rules for leases may affect owners, tenants, brokers, and property managers. It also provides an overview of the ADA and the new ADAAA laws. This is a good course for licensees who work with owners, tenants or manage real estate. The course is interactive, and it uses media to help illustrate the concepts.

Time:      9:00AM to 4:00PM  - please arrive by 8:45am.                

Lunch:    Lunch is on your own - will have access to kitchen.  

Cost:       $170.00 per Session for BOMA member firms; $320 for Two Sessions

NJ Real Estate License Continuing Ed Course 

SESSION II    DATE: March 5, 2019  

REAL ESTATE FINANCING, HOW IT IS DONE, C20201401: is a three (3) credit hour elective course that covers how debt and equity financing of real estate is done by reviewing examples of various situations. The course covers the underwriting criteria for a basic residential home purchase, a commercial mortgage loan for a user owner, a commercial investment property loan, interest rate swaps, and the JOBS act and how crowd funding is a new source for debt and equity financing of real estate. This is a good course for licensee’s who are involved in representing clients in selling or buying real estate either for their own use or for investment.

OWNERSHIP REPRESENTATION: AGENCY AND DISCLOSURE, C20200546: is a three (3) credit hour core course. It covers what you need to know when representing ownership in a sales, leasing or property management agency relationship. It reviews the types of ownership structures, property evaluation, building systems, environmental concerns, market evaluation, reconciling ownership’s goals with the market place, strategies in re-positioning the property,formulating the leasing and management plan, operating the property, collecting rents and financial responsibilities of the licensee.

These courses are offered by N.J. Real Estate Instructors, LLC, a N J Real Estate Commission licensed continuing education provider in conjunction with BOMA New Jersey. In order to receive proper credit for either course, N.J. Real Estate Instructors, LLC must have your correct license number and the proper spelling of your name  as it appears on your license. The State also requires us to take attendance and ask for identification.

Cancellations must be received ten (10) days before class to receive a refund.
