Program Objective:
Owners, managers and building operating personnel will be briefed on the new regulation from our Board of Public Utilities (BPU) regarding EPA Energy Star benchmarking of commercial office buildings over 25,000 gross SF by October 2023. The program will explain why the new regulation was adopted and how it dovetails with the “2019 New Jersey Energy Master Plan – Pathway to 2050.”
The basis of the EPA Energy Star scoring will be outlined, and the EPA Energy Star Portfolio Manager utility will be described.
A Colliers case study project will be used to illustrate gathering space data and addressing unique spaces such as large conference rooms and food service areas. Steps for a possible EPA Energy Sar Building label will be outlined along with the importance of developing a facility utilities master plan that is in concert with NJ’s Energy Master Plan.
Mechanics of collecting all data from non-owned equipment and other challenges you will encounter will be discussed.
